March 15, 2009 ... Our new album, "Monkey Business"  is now mastered and is "off to the presses" for reproduction!

It will be on sale soon with a CD release show being planned!

Background: This album is the most important and satisfying to me for three primary reasons;

#1 We needed to capture the live performance of the band and its players, as Totally Savage is at its pinnacle in terms of its talent and execution.  Mike, Chad and Bill represent, far and away, the hottest lineup the band has ever enjoyed.  A key ingredient is the natural chemistry and friendship between everyone in the band.  The band is always evolving and this lineup explores the jazz-rock and modal jam approach that is such a huge influence on each of us.  We felt that capturing this band identity and live energy, with our favorite Totally Savage songs, would be a first for the band and would really please our fans.

#2 The only problem is trapping a great live performance on CD and  I stumbled upon the key ingredient in executing this live approach when I discovered a little studio right on Marietta Square ...
Red Room 104, owned by  Charles Clifton.  Charles combines talent, experience,
equipment, feel and wonderful personality that I immediately knew could
provide the platform for a successful effort.  So, we came in to the studio in
July 2008, setup our equipment and simply played our favorite Totally Savage
songs while Charles did the rest.
Its important to note that this album is a 1-take live recording, with only Chad's lead vocals being added later.

#3 I've written and recorded a lot of songs and continue to develop new material constantly.  Over the years many folks have suggested a "Best Of" live album and that what we've done here.  You'll find two new songs (Monkey Business and The More I Wait) combined with eight Totally Savage classics. We hope you get a copy and enjoy it!

Here's the song list:

1. Shady Characters
2. Been Down Before
3. There's No Tellin'
4. Rainin' on the 4th of July
5. Trouble Dead Ahead
6. Monkey Business
7. Just Talk To Me
8. Whispered Promises
9. Unemployment Blues
10. The More I Wait

I speak for all of us when I say that each time we play is very special moment and a privilege.  We so much appreciate all of the people that enjoy and support the band.   Thanks to each of you and we hope to see ya'll soon.  Be good.
